Question Do I need to update my BIOS for new Processor?

Hi, I am planning to buy a new processor but I'm not also familiar in updating BIOS. I might get Ryzen 5 5600x or 5600 but I might need to update my bios with that.
My BIOS Version/date is American Megatrends Inc. P4.60 20/10/2022. Do you think i need to update my bios or I can just plug and play with new ryzen 5 5600x processor? Thanks!

RX 6600xt
AsRock B450m Steel Legend Motherboard / Version/date American Megatrends Inc. P4.60 20/10/2022.
750w PSU Corsair

You shouldn't need to. The BIOS version that made the first Zen 3s compatible was 3.60 from late 2020.

With bios p4.60 the latest non beta bios the 5600x will work without an update, but you may still have to reset the bios if it doesn't do it for you after installing the new CPU.

You may find the most recent BIOS permits more stable operation at higher XMP speeds, if you have any intention to overclock your RAM on the 5600X.
