[SOLVED] Do I need to update my Bios? I have a ASRock B360M Xtreme.

When I check the compatibility to upgrade my i5 9400f to i7 9700k, says that "Some Intel B360 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Coffee Lake Refresh CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions". BUT my version is a P4.00 dated 03/19/2019.

Assuming I have the correct motherboard infront of me, 4.00 is the version required for running the 9700K, so you don't need to update the bios to use it. There is a newer bios update (4.20) you can apply later on if you need it.

U have a i9 running atm so it will support the next 9th gen u wanna upgrade. Check and the https://www.asrock.com/SUPPORT/cpu.asp?s=1151&u=1130 but i think Third-Eye answer is on spot.

I have an i5 trying to upgrade to an i7, but Im just wondering if i need to update my bios

U have already a 9th gen intel cpu on this board u dont need new bios both i5 9400f and i7 9700k is both 9th gen. Also i5 9400f is newer model (2019) i7 9700k (2018) so u will be fine i made a mistake in my first post and the i9 is 9th gen soz for that.
