Hey guys, i've had my PC for over 5 years etc and i recently upgraded my GPU to Gtx 950 and i thought about upgrading my CPU too but in comparison to other AMD FX CPU's my cpu looked good in the comparison websites a help would be appreciated.

GPU: GTX 950
CPU: AMD FX-4170 Quad-Core Processor
RAM: 8GB

Do i need to upgrade anything? help would be appreciated :)

The specs are similar to FX-8350. Your CPU is good and doesn't bottleneck with any other components. But if you still want an upgrade, FX-8350 should do the trick. It will give you better performance for your needs and uses the same socket as FX-4170 so you don't need a motherboard upgrade.

Hope this helps!

It could possibly bottleneck the GPU. Maybe you can pick one off the 6300 series as they are pretty good. But the bottleneck wont be that much of a trouble maybe if you have some extra bucks buy a CPU now if you don't then maybe save for the future. Although you could overclock the one you have but hey it's up to you.

That doesn't seem like a big leap of a upgrade from the benchmarks. Is there anything better maybe?
