Do i need to upgrade my Psu (corsair VS450)

For the moment I have a amd fx 8120, radeon hd 6970 from ati and only 450w psu. It works pretty well even that the GPU is pretty power hungry, and the cpu is not any better. But now i decided to upgrade to something better and this time i realy want to try out intel and nvidia. I have around 1400 dollars to spend. Even that I have that "much" money to spend I thought to my self that ugrading the psu is not that necessary if it only will work. The psu it self is not that old I had it for around 1 year, but I bought it from a friend. His gpu and cpu (also from amd) was just to power hungry, But it worked just fine with my components so i bought it for a six-pack of beer (that was a real good deal). I realy want to buy a core i7 6700k or 7700k and nvidia gtx 1070, But will my Psu handle it or do I need to buy a new one.

For 6700k or 7700k alongwith 1070 it's better to buy a new 500 to 650 watt PSU. Because your corsair vs450 is good. But it's the low end PSU from corsair.

I would highly recommend a better PSU especially if your going to use some of your current parts such as storage, case, cooling, etc. By doing so you could easily get the i7-7700K, Z270 MB & GTX 1070 or even 1080 for that budget which would be drastically faster then your current system.
