Hi i put this pc together earlier this year
CPU:i7 4770k €280
Case:Fractal Design R4 €82
RAM:16GB 1333 €140
GPU:Radeon HD 6770 €160
Cooling:Thermalright Macho (BW) €35
Motherboard:Asus Z87K €99
HDD: 2xWD Blue 1TB(€80 each) & Crucial M4 128 SSD €120
PSU:Seasonic G 550 Watt €85

I use it for Music Production mainly Cubase 7.5, but i am lately having problems with it, it seems like it lag's a bit every now and again ive done all the tweeks and its a offline pc, the ram is 1333 but i have 16gigs of it so surely thats enough ram to produce a track with as for the MB i dont need extra features so i taught i had baught the right board at the time any help would be great thanks

Sorry this the Ram i have
2x Silicon Power 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz DIMM 240PIN PC3-10600 RAM
2x Adata 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz DIMM 240PIN PC3-10600 RAM

Would i really benefit from having branded Ram at faster speeds, plus my board can take 32 gig but do i really need that much, i would like to have the best in my set up but that much ram at higher speeds aint cheap

Thanks

Jay

Ive done all the tweeks i built it myself only programme's running is Cubase & Ableton in rewire both 64bit it actually happens most then esspicially when i press press play u can ever hear the music starting up of a mere second

Thanks for your reply

All drivers are up to date and i always use Ccleaner

Im running win 8.1 by the way

Thanks for your reply

Thanks for your replys but my main question here is do i really need better ram and is my motherboard up to the task for what i use it for or is what i have more that enough to worrie about upgrading and maybe spend my money on better speakers or soundcard

Thanks

Jay

This is my main reason for asking, i have as follows

2x Silicon Power 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz DIMM 240PIN PC3-10600 RAM
2x Adata 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz DIMM 240PIN PC3-10600 RAM

Would i really feel a better performance from my pc with the Ram you mentioned

Yea you would experience better compatibility with same brand ram and the ram he previously mentioned is a good set for music programs but make sure your HDD is properly defrag'd and that all clusters are aligned in a proper circle (There are programs online you can get that well do this for you can't think of any examples off the top of my head got to look around.) Also run a memtest on your ram to make sure isn't dead. I would also to make sure when you are shopping for ram next time make sure its Same brand, Speed, and Voltage. This well ensure least amount of problems to occur when installation occurs. Good luck!

Thank you for your reply i haven't ran a memtest yet it slipped my mind will do that straight away (thanks) i always defrag my drive's with windows defrag i recentally downloaded defragler and used that aswell, i just looked up that ram i can get this for €200 Kingston Kingston Hyperx Beast 16Gb 2X8gb Memory Kit 2400Mhz Ddr3 Non-Ecc C its a lot of money just for an upgrade im just hopping i would see a proformance increase if i spend that much

Thanks

Jay

I am thinking of ordering this ram tonight Kingston Kingston Hyperx Beast 16Gb 2X8gb Memory Kit 2400Mhz Ddr3 Non-Ecc C i can get it for €190 which is expensive for an upgrade, so i just ask one more time if you dont mind, do i really need this ram if i already have 16GB of this type of ram -2x Silicon Power 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz DIMM 240PIN PC3-10600 RAM & 2x Adata 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz DIMM 240PIN PC3-10600 RAM am i going to feel a difference in the proformance

Well that ram is being sold as a kit so, yes you would feel a change in performance due to it being same brand RAM and same clock speeds of ram. If you do end up purchasing that ram be sure to install it correctly. Hope this helped your issue with your RAM.

Thanks for your reply, i think ill will go ahead with this upgrade, i just hope spending €200 for an upgrade will be worth the money or am i throwing it in the wrong place(will i really notice the preformance increase), i could get a new soundcard or speakers either

Thank you for your reply, well i would save the money towards a new soundcard is what i ment sorry, do you recomend any other Ram that maybe be a bit cheaper but still branded

Thanks

Jay
