So i've been using this laptop for like a year now, it's been doing pretty good but suffers quite a bit from the newest games coming up (had to run Rainbow six at a 720p window, low-med settings)

But my friends keep on telling me to update my drivers so that it can help :Y but does it really help that much? Here's my specs.

i5-4210H 2.7-3.5GHz
GTX 850M 4GBvRam
12GB DDR3 RAM
Windows 8

Sooo, on the geforce experience app, there's a current update for my GPU but i'm not soore if it rlly does make a difference in terms of gaming, and besides this GPU is quite an older version so i'm not sure if they're still tweaking FPS performance and stuffs :Y

Thankss

I beg to differ. If your laptop is working fine with existing drivers, leave them alone.

Only update a driver if existing one is causing problems, or if the latest driver version offers a must-have feature or a fix for a specific problem you've got.

It is not a mandatory requirement to install the latest available drivers!
Of course it helps. It won't make your gpu better but the way it processes applications. Drivers can fix bugs, errors, compatibilities and even increase fps in some games. All gpu manufacturers suggest keeping your drivers up to date, so just go with it.
