So I have the Razer Hanbo cooler and the Asus Rog Strix z590-e gaming wifi mother board. The directions for the Razer Hanbo says to plug into the CPU header but I was wondering if it would be better to use the AIO header plug instead. When I had it plugged into the aio, I would get an error about my cpu fan speed.

It doesn't matter which header it is plugged in.
The difference between CPU_FAN and AIO_PUMP are:
-the default curve of AIO_PUMP is a flat 100% and the CPU_FAN's is variable. Both can be changed in bios.
-the power rating of CPU_FAN is USUALLY 1A, enough for an AIO header. AIO_PUMP is 2-3A.

I would get an error about my cpu fan speed.
You must have something plugged into the CPU_FAN header.

Follow the instructions for installation here

From the system PUMP unit there is one cable to go to a mobo USB2 header. Then there's a multi-headed cable from the pump for several connections. One is power input by plugging into a SATA power output from the PSU. This provides all power for the pump, rad fans, and any connected lighting units. One has two wires with a standard 4-pin fan connector and that MUST plug into the mobo CPU_FAN header. This cable delivers the PUMP speed to the CPU_FAN header for monitoring for failure, and the mobo MUST have that signal to ensure it is safe to operate. One is a 3-pin male ARGB output cable that provides ARGB control signals to other lighting units if you have any. Then there's a cable with THREE male fan connectors. ONE of those has all four pins in it and will return to the pump unit the speed of its pump. The other two are missing Pin #3, so those two fans' speeds will NOT be "seen" anywhere. THESE are where your rad fans must be plugged in. You do NOT need to use the mobo WPUMP+ or AIO_PUMP headers.

You must download and install (maybe have done this already) the software utility Razer Synapse. This is how you configure and monitor the AIO system and also any ARGB lighting units you may have connected. It takes over all control of CPU cooling. It communicates with the PUMP unit via that USB2 cable. It can show you the speeds of the pump and the rad fans, and will control the rad fans' speeds according to CPU temperature. It is possible - I don't know Synapse enough - that Razer Synapse also can configure automatic control of your CASE Vent fan you have plugged into the CHA_FAN2 header.
