Can I connect a wifi adapter to a motherboard? and if so, can I connect
TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 Dual Band Wireless N900 PCI Express Adapter
to Gigabyte GA-Z170XP-SLI ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ?

Yes, you can attach that wireless card to that motherboard. It uses a PCIe 1x port which that board has two of.
