Hello,

Please tell us about your computer (make, model#, attached devices like HDD and CD or DVD burners) and if any thing was changed just prior to the DVD not being detected.

Also go to your BIOS, and see if the DVD is recognized by the BIOS on the Standard CMOS features page.
Then while in windows, go to the device manager and see if Windows recognizes it as a hardware device. Double click on it, if present, and see if there is an error code, or if it says 'this device is working properly'

One step at a time:

Go to your BIOS, and see if the DVD is recognized by the BIOS on the Standard CMOS features page.
It won't say it's corrupted or missing, it will either be listed there or not.
