Do these readings sound about right...

Thx for the help. I am having some strange problems and I think it is my PSU do these readings indicate anything to anybody:
+12v--->12.224
+5v---->4.919
+3.3v-->3.228
And Vcore for my Athon 2400+--->1.632

You might be a little low on the 3.3v rail but well within spec unless you're trying to feed some BH-5 3.3v.

Your voltage readings seem OK. What you need to tell us is what your Amperage (A) ratings are on your PSU. Also, what are your system specs, specifically what brand/rating PSU are you currently using?

The PSU that I am using is an OKIA??... 430watter. My specs are:
2400+
A7N8X
BBA 9600xt
DVD-rw
DVD-rom
2 hard drives
6 case fans
2x512 Kingston pc2700

Never heard of OKIA. What you need to do is take the side of your case off, and read the label on the side of your PSU. It should list voltage and amp ratings.

For example: +12V 20A
+5V 15A

Those are the ratings that matter. I had a 350W PSU that was crappy, and wouldn't run any kind of 3D app simply because the amperage was too low on one of the voltage rails.

OKIA's in the middle of the pack. Two mice and a treadmill could run that PC anyway. Look elsewhere for the problem.

You could be right, but I wouldn't discount the PSU, depending on the ratings per voltage rail. I had a crap 350W that would crash the whole system everytime it tried to run a 3D app, and the system was almost identical to BossHoss, except it only had 1 HDD/Optical Drive, no fans, and only 1 stick of RAM.

If even one of the voltage rails is underpowered, that would cause all kinds of random crashes.

He could also try <A HREF="http://www.memtest86.com" target="_new">MemTest86</A> and see if it RAM related, as bad RAM causes all kinds of weird errors as well.

I don't disagree with you Spark, but unless he doesn't have 15a on the 12v rail I can't see a problem with these readings. He's just not drawing that much. Never-the-less, power supplies have died like this in the past.

I put very little faith in the rail ratings of power supplies. For example, I've never overloaded a power supply, yet my Antecs would start dropping voltage at less than 70% of their rated capacity. Antec later added the "True Power" series using the word "True" in reference to everything else they sold being a lie.

ok, it says +12v=18a +5=38a +3.3=23a

And one more question, I am upgrading to this:

Am I gonna need a better PSU for my new setup?

18a on the 12+ line is enough for that system. However if you are buying all that, whats another $50 or so dollars on a quality PSU?

With these voltages sitting well inside a +/- 5% operating window, I'd say you were doing pretty good. And better on the low side than the high, since power dissipation will be a little lower overall in the regulators/switch mode PSU's to supply VCore and VDIMM
