just wondering iff the next gen nvidia gpu's, rtx 5000 series will use the PCIe 5.0 interface
It's about the bandwidth available as was mentioned above current top end cards need more than PCIe 3.0 x16, but less than PCIe 4.0 x16 provides. To understand this is helps to know how the bandwidth works:what do you mean? that PCIe 4.0 will do the exact same job?
x4 | x8 | x16 | |
PCIe 3.0 | 4GB/s | 8GB/s | 16GB/s |
PCIe 4.0 | 8GB/s | 16GB/s | 32GB/s |
PCIe 5.0 | 16GB/s | 32GB/s | 64GB/s |
PCIe 4.0 will not limit it in any way so long as the interface is running at x16.so technically, iff i stick a rtx 5080 in this machine i wont loose any performance?
