I bought a Xfx rx570 on amazon for $119.99 and I assumed it would be fine. It’s fine it runs games great with my ryzen 5 2600. But it’s hitting crazy temps. I replaced the thermal paste and I have 3 intake fans. Idk why I’m hitting 80-89c in games like siege

Solution
Ok, looking at your case, I see the top and both sides of the front panel are completely sealed. Looks like the diagonal RGB stripe doesn't allow air though either. That leaves only the bottom of the front panel to let air in (and if I'm seeing it right, maybe only the left 2/3 of the bottom).

That isn't even enough vent area for one fan. Having two high static pressure fans in the front might improve the situation, but it's still not going to be great.

In the meantime, what monitor do you have? (Make & model) I can help you reduce the power consumption of your GPU (power consumption = heat)
75C is typically the target temp set for most GPUs (that they regulate their fan speeds to maintain). Is there a significant difference in GPU fan speed with the side panel off? I presume the fans are at or near 100% (maybe...2400rpm) when it's at 85C.

What case do you have?

Yeah, idk. I had a gtx 1060 which died. The max temp I had on that was around 74-75c but that was in crazy loads and I usually saw 68-69c. Idk what my monitor is. It’s from Element and it stock runs at 60hz but I pushed it to 75hz

I mean...clearly there's a case airflow situation here when the GPU overheats (it's most likely throttling at 90C) with the side panel off, but is cool and quiet(er) with the side panel off.

To keep your GPU using the least amount of power possible without losing any performance, have a read through this forum thread. I can give you voltages for each of the 7 frequency states if you'd like to get a head start on testing stable voltages.

Other things you can do is to enable AMD's "Frame Rate Target Control" (or FRTC) to allow the GPU to downclock in lighter games to save power/heat/noise.

ok, sorry for the late reply, i have a gtx 1060 on hand and i tested its temps and at load i hit a max 75c. So i think it had to be something with the cooler on the rx570. And i cuttout an extra hole on the top for extra airflow
