Hello there so im thinking about upgrading my pc but i dont know if this is worth the move, im trying to bump up my system a little bit but im a little low on budget because my pc is really starting to show its age with the new titles that i try to play today.

My current specs are:
MOBO: 970a-ud3p
CPU: Fx-6300 3.8ghz , 6 cores
GPU: Gtx-960 2gb
8gb ram, 212 coolermaster evo.

I want to upgrade my computer without having to completely restart from fresh, as i dont see a need to buy a new case, mobo etc.

I want to move to a fx-8350 4ghz 8core, along with a mini itx card with $60 discount 1060 6gb card for 390+160 beforetaxes pretty much,

You really don't have a couple of years. Not unless you'll restrict yourself to games you can play decently now. If the only game I'd play in the next few years was skyrim, my 3770k/970 would be good. If I got into BF1 or pubg or overwatch I'd be ok at lowered settings. But pubg 2 will be coming, as will BF1+ and WoW extreme, etc and then I'll be in trouble. As is, even my pc is going to suffer in current AAA titles. 5 years from now, figure on quad core cpus being no better than dual core cpus are now, you'll scrape by with a hyperthreading version, but that's barely going to meet minimum specs. Games are getting too demanding for lesser cpus/gpus to handle.
How cheap is the 8350? Not worth it unless it is VERY cheap. Like $50 or less. Or free.
970 chipset won't let you OC it very far, usually.
I'd OC the 6300, buy the 1060 6GB, which WILL be a decent upgrade.
Sell the 960, add it to the money you would have spent on a 8350.

And save a little more for a R5 2600, an X470 budget-ish mobo, and 16 GB ram in the future.
Or B450 mobo when they come out, which won't be that far off,
Thus getting you all the way up to a modern, powerful gaming rig ( relatively speaking), fairly economically.

PS, the 212 evo with an adapter will work on AM4 socket. So that part can continue to be used in the future.

For gaming I find that upgrade rather pointless unless the CPU price is very very low. And still expect a bottleneck in gaming with a GTX 1060 with a FX CPU. Exroofer was dead on with the "Like $50 or less. Or free. " If you really want to see a frame rate increase of any worth you'll jump on to a ryzen 6+ core or intel gen 4-8 CPU (ideally a 6 core gen 8 ie i5 8400-i7 8700K). Ultimately a GTX 1060 would be under powered with any FX series CPU.

My CPU is quite weird its very inconsistent, Ive tried running bf4 and it hits 60fps but stutters very badly, along with BF1 which should be playable on med settings on the upwards of 50+ fps with no OC on the gpu/cpu , I get low 30s with 0fps stutters. As of right now I see that buying a motherboard and buying a ryzen along with 1060 is of course a very viable situation but Id like to only spend max 600-650 in the hopes of atleast ensuring fps stabilization.
Do you guys have any suggestions that may not involve switching motherboards or atleast the change to ddr4 ram which is hella expensive right now? Thanks. Main reason for upgrading is after water damage to my system where coffee directly spilled through the back of my GPU,a miracle occured and the gpu is still kicking and I can still play games - just often i notice these very bad stutters worse than before. The PSU died and to my knowledge the mobo and ram is fine. I'm scared the GPU is gonna give way soon though.

EDIT: I have the black edition fx-6300, and ive read many reviews of it doing wonders, it use to be very consistent in the beginning of its life two years ago but now I get very bad stutters my friend who has a 5 year old $1100 CAD old system with an old i5 in it loads in faster then me in many games with no SSD. Keep in mind i replace my thermal paste every 7 months and have been from the start. I'd also consider overclocking it but I had a bad experience with overclocking this same system like a year ago and I dont think i want to try it unless someone does it for me.

Fx 6300 is the same cpu as the FX 8320/8350/8370 just missing 1 node (2 cores), so it's really not an upgrade at all except for anything that'll make good use of the 2 extra cores.

The ud3p will OC just fine, especially with a 95w cpu like the 6300. With a hyper212, there's no reason why it couldn't comfortably hit 4.5GHz which is where op needs to be.

To say just how bad the FX were for gaming, any of the Vishera cpus had approximately 67% of the IPC (instructions per clock) of an i5-3570k. So to get similar performance to an intel cpu back then at 3.4GHz, you'd need to be pushing the FX at @5.0GHz.

At 5.0GHz, the FX is @40% slower than a Ryzen 1600, and closer to 60% slower than an i7-8700k. At 3.8GHz you are running less than half the speeds of Ryzen and an 8700k is closer to @75% faster per clock.

Games like BF4, BF1 etc were written for Haswell i5 cpus as minimums for good fps. At stock speeds you are running half what you'd need to be. OC can help, will help, but honestly it's beating a dead horse.

The 1060 is fine, get it if you wish, but you'd be better off starting with a solid core component than a gpu at this point and hopefully gpu prices will continue to drop.

The only downside is I get to spend 300+ dollars for a mobo and ddr4 ram, when I can spend 160 and still scrape by for a couple years if I decide to OC it. I guess Im looking for more what works good and better now, than what I need in the future which is kinda dumb. Maybe i should just buy the GPU for now? So i can get rid of this GPU thats probably on its way out very soon?

I have a question i found a guy selling his i7-4930k built pc, for 800 cad, he said hes willing to part it out do you think i should possibly switch to this? Its a 2011 cpu but it outranks my cpu by almost 300 spots on cpubenchmark, i couldnt manage to find any 1060 videos with it for reference to see if there was any bottleneck. Should i go for it and for how much should i aim for, for this to be worth it?

EDIT: its also paired with a x79-up4 motherboard.
