my desktop i use for gaming and movies, the other desktop is a win2003 server... i then have 1 laptop which i use at work(i need it since im an ICT tech and take it everywhere) the other laptop stays at my flat untill i go home before i go home i transfer my work onto the laptop so that i always have everything i need to work.

my laptop came in great when i was at university i couldnt complain but now it sits gathering dust untill i decide i want to go back home(which is once in a blue moon) i have my n95 8GB for watching movies on the go, and an ipod for my music, i wouldnt want to carry a laptop for music or video.

I have both laptop and desktop. But I have less and less use for my desktop after my laptop came along. It’s a hassle going back and forth just pull up files. So everything’s in my laptop now and it works for me. I guess the bottom line is, you just have to know what you need and what works best for you.

1 laptop and 1 custom desktop

Dell 1720: 8600m gt, 2gb ram, t7300, 160gb 5400 rpm HDD

Custom: AMD 3800+ @ 2.64GHz, 2gb ram, 7900 gt, 250gb and 160gb HDD

I left the desktop at home because it's the only Comp my parents have atm. The laptop is my main. When I move into my apartment this fall, I'm taking both and I'm going to use the Desktop as an entertainment center and TV and my Lappy for classes.

3 Desktops, two are built via excess upgraded components from my primary. Both situated conveniently at relatives house's, so I have a place to escape :).

3 Laptops (bit of a kleptomaniac). Lent oldest to family for student studies (so mostly has porn on it), newest is purely for gaming (alienware m15x + GTX) and my middle aged laptop (amilo Xa 1526) is in reserve in case one of my desktops fall over big time and don't have either the time or the dosh to fix it.

1 Laptop, 3 desktops.

Two of the desktops I use simply to work on other people's pcs, saving data and removing viruses. They also are the workhorse machines that try out new programs and procedures so I don't have to waste time on my high-performance desktop, in my config. (though it's kinda old, it really hauls, trust me)

My laptop I just got a few weeks ago I definitly use the most, it's a luggable sager np5793. I use it for everything...because it can do anything. The best part about it is probably the screen, it's huge and high res, so I can get everything done on one screen.

I did almost buy that gateway laptop a few weeks back, but the slow processor and low screen resolution turned me away.

I have 1 desktop and 1 laptop.

I use my desktop for games and file storage and I use my laptop to stream movies/music from my desktop when I'm going to sleep since my desktop system is not in my room. It works out pretty well.

For about the last 5 years I've been running both a laptop and a desktop. The Desktop for my work at home and then a laptop for when I'm on the road. The main problem is syncing the files between the two.

I have my homebuilt desktop and just ordered a netbook on Black Friday. The desktop is obviously my main computer, and I use it everyday for everything. The netbook's going to be mainly for taking to campus, viewing/typing notes/powerpoint stuff, web surfing, etc.

I have a "desktop" that I use most of the time, and a notebook. My wife has her own desktop.

My desktop is at the end of the sofa, the monitor is on a little table in front of the sofa, so I sit on the sofa, watch TV and surf the net.

My notebook is used mostly for travel. Occasionally I use it around the house for surfing the net when I'm not where the desktop computer is. Also I use it a lot as a terminal to connect to my work computer and work at home. I can set it on the dining table and have plenty of room to spread out my paperwork, unlike the limited space where my desktop is.

I'm in a tight spot now- my desktop is old and slow so I need to build a new one. My notebook is also pretty old and slow, and I need to start running CAD apps on it so I need to buy a new notebook. And then I've been interested in a netbook for travel, plus my wife wants one of her own.
