Do you need both the lighting node pro and commander pro hub for the rgb to work with the ML140 Pro?

I recently bought 2 pairs of the ML140's Pro from amazon on it's own and I wanted to install them with rgb colours into my comptuer. But, then I realised that I became confused as I opened the packages because there was two cables that came with the fan itself.

One I knew was for obviously connecting the fan itself to the motherboard using a sata cable, but there was annother cable that I had no clue of where it had to connect.

Once I checked up on the internet to find out on what's missing, I realised that I needed a lighting node pro and a commander hub pro.

Other people on amazon have said that you need both of those ^ components in order for the rgb to work and some have said you only need one of the two. Do I really need both for the rgb to work correctly??

Hi! Just letting you know, you don't connect fans via SATA, you connect them through 3 or 4 pin fan headers. Terminology matters. As for your question, it depends on how many fans you're connecting (which I know is 4, but we're speaking in hypotheticals ATM), how you're planning to connect them, and what Motherboard you have.

1.If your motherboard has an RGB header, you *shouldn't* need the lighting node pro. You *might* be able to daisy chain your fans together and plug all of them into the same motherboard header.

2. If your motherboard has enough fan headers, you will not need the commander pro hub.

3. The commander pro hub is RGB compatible, so you wouldn't need to purchase the lighting node pro anyways.

I have the gigabyte GAH270 gaming 3 motherboard, I only intend to light up my new fans that I purchased and nothing else. Just im confused whether or not I need either the commander pro or lighting node pro or only one of the two.

I read up and others have said "not" to use the motherboards fan headers and rgb port if it is compatible with the rgb fans, as it will fry up the fans or something like that. Hearing that scared me even more and just confused me even more.

Should I return my fans and re purchase the whole pack? As I purchased them seperately without the lighting node pro and commander pro and I'm assuming you need them for rgb. Help please

So I don't need the lighting node pro? coz on the pack it says that you need both, it's really annoying!
