Do you recommend Windows ME for burning?

Hi,

I'.m having serious problems with my Sony writer. I wonder if my CD recorder (Sony crx145e/rp) really is compatible with Win Me...it doesn't say so on the box or in the manual, but according to roxios site Easy CD Creator 5 should be compatible with both my recorder and Win ME...

Please help, should I go back to Win 98? Or should I install Win 2000 (I only have a Celeron 300 @ 466 Mhz)?

I have gone from win98 to winME without any problems with an HP 9150i. These two operating systems are really very similar. I think it is more important that the CD writer not be on the same IDE cable as a HDD. Check the Sony webb site to see if there are any issues on your CD wirter.

What issues are you having exactly? IMO, WinME works just as well for CD writers as Win98SE.

I wrote the other mesage about the Sony three rows down in the list. But the letter was so long that nobody gives a [-peep-] about it...

But a summary of the problem:

The Burner test burns always go well, but after burning almost the whole CD it can't finalize the CD, sends out an error message and the CD is unreadble.

I have the CD-burner as master on IDE-2 and nothing as slave...
