Do you think that 10GB will be enough for online gaming?

Right now my internet is complete garbage, 100 KB/s download, and 150 KB/s upload, but it is the best I can get. I can play games fine, if I am the only one on, and if I am only trying to play the game. Except that is a problem, because even Discord will make my ping 900+ and get me kicked almost instantly.

Well now that I am starting to make friends online, it gets very frustrating because I keep on getting kicked. So my idea is to use my 10 GB phone data as a hot spot and use that to play multiplayer games with friends and when I am playing alone or downloading updates I'll switch back to my slow but unlimited internet service.

The only games I play with my friends are Rainbow Six Siege and Rocket League (Not sure if that will make a difference or not)

Do you think that this will work, or should I just get used to playing alone?

Solution
Not sure on those games but it is pretty easy to figure out.

Run the game on your normal internet and leave the resource monitor up. On the network tab try to find the connection to the game server. You should see a BYTE count constantly increasing. You should be able to calculate how much per hour it will use.

Most games use less that 500kbits/sec up and down but some like WoW use far less.
