I think in some countries, there was CCTV already in early 80's, and they recorded (i.e. videos and pictures) the streets or roads.

Just asking out of curiosity, do you think they still have archive of those time now in 2018? maybe in the big database?

I'm sure some jurisdictions have decided to keep all that.

I know my city has aerial photos of the whole city (similar to maps.google.com) going back to 1937
