Do you think this is a good system build?

Hey, I was wondering if you guys could give some opinions on my system build. It's been nearly 10 years since I build my last computer. This one is for gaming and other miscellaneous things.

CPU: AMD Athlon x4 860K Black Edition
GPU: XFX Radeon R9 270 DD
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2X4)
Motherboard: Gigabyte G1.Sniper A88X
PSU: EVGA 500w Bronze
Case: Enermax Ostrog Giant

Let me know what you think. I am open to suggestions for future upgrades that are not too expensive. This was built on a $500 budget.Thanks

Are you transferring your HDD over, or buying an hdd? Your build is nice (besides the mobo), but this gives you a better gpu. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/8GjqJx

I forgot that. I am getting a 1tb Seagate Barracuda. I prefer Seagate over Western Digital. What is wrong with the mono? I researched a lot about it and saw nothing but good things. I am big on audio and love the dual bios as well. And the GPU that you recommended is better but I got a discount (from my job) and got my GPU for about $137 so it was a great deal.

No the 4200 is pretty much old junk honestly. The 860k will blow it away. The 4200 would BADLY bottleneck a gtx970.


OP, your hardware selection is perfectly fine and will work great.

It depends on what games you are playing I recommend using dual core CPUs if you not playing the newest games.
