I have quite a number of paper documents that I can't just throw them away but keeping them in hard copy
for long term could be a headache, e.g cleaning, loss etc...

I happen to find that there is document scanner sold on the web, what do you think? Does anyone here use it? What's your experience with it? I thought about simply taking pictures of the documents with my mobile phone but looks like the reading experience is not as good as a full clear document in PDF

What do you think??

"Document scanner" is quite a broad term, and it is not just hardware. In simplest form, you can use your phone as a scanner. But if you have hundreds of pages to scan, a scanner with ASF (automatic sheet feeder), and probably duplex option, is much better option.

The other issue is organization. As it simplest, you can throw all scanned files in couple of folders and take time to put reasonable file names. Other systems allow for scanned documents to be OCR'ed, their content indexed, tagged etc, for easy retrieval.
