Hello, so I didn't really know what to label this under so I apologize in advance. But now to the point; I have 30 gigs a month I have to stay within (I live in the country) so I'm debating on spending 1200-1400 dollars on a desktop that can run just about any game on high settings and have to worry about the bandwidth or get a 1200-1400 laptop that runs just about everything on medium and not really have to worry about it. So pretty much my question is, does higher graphic settings use up more internet?

Solution
Once you download the game, no.

Most of the data passed back and forth is "you are here", and "they are there".
The graphics is handled internally, by the game software you already downloaded.
Games use a netcode to send/receive calculative information between the server and the user, it matters not the graphical settings in use and wont impact on level of information because its not streaming. However streaming content from websites like Youtube set at a higher bit rate (ie; 720p/1080p) will chew through bandwidth.

After you download a game, your not using the internet. to play, so NO ultra is the same as low.
If you play mulit player, or cloud sync, steam, ubiplay & origin updates & syncing all use internet during launching.
"Stand alone" (disk) games do not use internet.

i assumed in my first response you meant online gaming, if you felt that was your ba select that post as it would have been beneficial for anyone else viewing this to see that selected.

The others more or less said similar including offline play because they weren't sure.
