Question Document save default changed with Windows 11

I regularly save text in a document file.
Previously, on windows 10, when changing some text windows would ask if you want to exit without updating.
Now on W11, it just goes ahead and updates with any changes you made.
Normally not a problem.
But, if mistakes were made in the document they are changed.
An inadvertent mistake or fumble fingers would commit the change.
With the old save/cancel option, such a mistake could be easily corrected.

I have not yet found the place where I could change the default action for exiting a documents file to ask if I wanted to save or not.

Solution
Found this:
Press alt plus s for settings. There, is an option that says when notepad starts... Select open new window, rather than open previous session. This returns the old behaviour, including when you press alt + f4 it will ask if you want to save changes. I think you can also disable tabs by choosing choose where files go when opened, and selecting "new window".

Should help.

Is this Notepad or Word?

If Word, Autosave might be on.
