I'm planning to build a computer with an MSI Radeon RX 5700 video card and an MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX motherboard. I heard in a video that your video card and your motherboard must support the same PCI-e Generation and it appears that my GPU (PCI-e 4.0) and my MOBO (PCI-e 2.0 and 3.0) do not support the same generations. Is this a problem? Thanks in advance.

Solution
That GPU will work find with the b450 board. The information you were give is not really accurate. The 5700 supports PCIe 4.0, but it also will run on PCIe 3.0, 2.0, and 1.0. It just wont have as much bandwidth. But bandwidth does not matter as PCIe 3.0 is still more than enough for the 5700.

Right now PCIe 4.0 is really not needed and most people wont be able to take advantage of it. The b450 tomahawk is a good board, so go for it.
