[SOLVED] Does a USB headset utilise the on board sound?

I just got a new ASUS motherboard, my old one had really bad sound. The marketing for this one makes a big deal out of "Crystal sound 3" their on-board sound processing. My question is, if I plug in a USB headset does it utilise the crystal sound 3 hardware?

negative.
a USB device is self contained, the headset in this case will have an onboard audio processor.
to use the onboard crystal audio you need either speakers or a headset that connects to the audio ports on the motherboard/chassis

Will the front jack work? It's plugged into the HD audio out on the motherboard

if its connected to the motherboard properly it should.
