Does a win2k reinstall wipe all my apps?

when i reinstall win2k will it wipe all my programs/games/apps/filelocations and registry settings?
or will it just replace the windows kernel like a win 98 reinstall?

ive installed win2k 3 times thus far, but never RE-installed

There's something called "repair installation" in the options, I think. All programs etc should be left intact.
