[SOLVED] Does an H170 Pro Gaming support an i7-8700?

This is probably a really dumb question but I am just making sure before I spend $300-400.

I tried looking on this site and the 8700 is not on the list. From the list it looks like the best cpu my motherboard can run is an i7-7700k but they are more expensive then an 8700(is it better)?!? I dont know why but if the best CPU I can get is an i7-7700k then ill go with that.

7700k is your best cpu, it'll need a bios update to work most likely so update it before your remove whatever you have

Or to answer your question directly no it's not supported

Depending on how much a 7700k would cost you, it may be better to just a new mobo along with an 8th/9th gen CPU (or Ryzen).
