Does an XFX Rx 550 2gb compatible with old systems?

I just bought an Rx 550, Xfx ones, And i recently have some issue. Like my screen is flickering before the drivers were installed, and my screen is blinking even though all of the drivers were installed, with my old gpu (gtx 550 ti) all of it works fine.

My system:
Xeon L5410 modded @2.33ghz
Digital Alliance IG41 MA6 with pcie 1.1

6GB DDR3 @1333mhz ram
2x WD 500gb and 160gb 7.2k rpm

A 450w psu

Is this a compatibility issue or software issue? Im kinda confused here and running out of options.

Hardware wise, there shouldn't be any issue since PCI-E 3.0 devices are backwards compatible with PCI-E 2.0 and 1.0. Where issue could remain is the software, GPU drivers to be more specific. Here, i suspect that Radeon has dropped the support for older hardware in their newer drivers and that's why you'll see screen flickers. Either that or your monitor don't like the newer GPU.

I use an hdmi monitor(720p), and try to plug into a tv (1080p). Its same or if i use dvi to hdmi will it solve it( suspecting faulty hdmi, for now...)?

You can use different port if you suspect it's monitor port issue. Also, using TV would show if the issue is with your monitor or not.

Using the tv results the same, and im also contacting xfx support. The thing is, my monitor was used as a cctv monitor 24/7 not off.

It very well could be that the GPU has some issues. Also, did trying in different monitor port resulted the same issue?

As far as GPU manufacturers go, i prefer Asus and MSI. EVGA and Gigabyte are also good while i tend to stay away from Zotac, PNY and XFX. PNY and XFX aren't that well known in GPU industry and their GPUs are cheap, compared to the MSI and Asus GPUs. But what i like about XFX is their PSUs (except XT-series) since those are good quality and solid units made by Seasonic.

I did try using a 1080p tv, it does only blinking when the drivers were installed. Also, if i use dvi to hdmi adapters, will it fix tye problem? Because im suspecting the hdmi port. And i already got an rma twice (yes twice).

And im using a xeon L5410 which is not an original 775 processor. If i change back to my good ol core 2 duo e8400, will it fix the problem?

I don't think CPU would be the issue here since if it were, you'd see screen flicker with your old GPU as well.

Where the issue could remain is in the GPU drivers. As you said, your TV showed no flickering until you installed GPU drivers. Also, consider the fact that you had Nvidia GPU before and now you're running Radeon GPU. There are some differences between the two on GPU drivers level as well. In general, Nvidia drivers are less faulty than AMD drivers.

As far as monitor ports go, HDMI port is the one that causes the most issues since it's known that HDMI usually doesn't work until you install GPU drivers.
Display Port is equal in performance of HDMI and is good alternative.
DVI is a bit older tech than HDMI and DP but it still works fine. Though, there are limitations of DVI due to it's age where HDMI and DP are better (e.g 4K resolution and audio transfer).
And lastly, there's VGA as well. Out of the 4, VGA is the oldest of them all and uses analog signal compared to the digital signal of other 3. VGA is also the most robust of the 4 but due to it's long service life, it also has the greatest limitations according to the today's standards. In other words, VGA is almost obsolete nowadays.

I browse on youtube and there were tons of peoples like me using c2q with rx 550, but almost all of them were using the crimson relive edition.

And if i install it, either i will get that fuzzy flicker with strange colors on booting windows and inside windows, or its stuck on boot, or get a bsod with thread stuck in device driver, and another bsod that has flicker that i cant read. The strange thing though, it did not happen in bios. And i still have a windows xp(lol) on my very very old second drive, its like that too(i know it doesnt support it) but a little longer like 4 min.

The thing with GPU drivers is that when you find a stable version of it that works well with your hardware, there isn't much point to update the drivers to their latest version. For example, i'm running v378.92 of my Nvidia drivers while the latest version is: v398.36. In other words: if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Crimson ReLive is predecessor of Adrenalin and it could work with your GPU better than Adrenalin you're currently using. Suggesting it could be true are also all those videos you looked with similar setup to yours where they used Crimson ReLive, instead of Adrenalin. Also, in other words: downgrading your GPU drivers to an older version can fix your screen flicker issue.

Though, when changing GPUs, do uninstall old GPU drivers before putting new GPU into your system and installing it's drivers, especially when it's from Radeon to Nvidia or vice-versa. Since Nvidia and AMD drivers can conflict in your PC and cause additional issues.

And i actually go to the computer technician to install,the rx 550 (since my mom doesnt allow me to and i did told her it was easy) the computer technician said there was no need to uninstall the nvidia drivers and they wont conflict. Is that true?

Since only thing that changed, hardware wise, in your PC was different GPU while everything else is the same: RAM, MoBo, CPU, HDD and PSU, how could they be the issue?

GPU drivers conflict between Nvidia and AMD is a possibility and not certainty. Here, would you like to be safe or sorry? Safe meaning that you first do a clean uninstall of old GPU drivers before even putting a new GPU in the system. Where sorry means that you cross your fingers and take the risk of old GPU drivers not working with new GPU drivers.

Quite a lot of things in this topic point towards GPU drivers issue. Though, it is a possibility that the GPU itself has a defect.

Though, i don't get one thing. How you were able to replace your E8400 with L5410, which requires complex modding and is otherwise quite difficult thing to do, when your mom even doesn't allow you to change the GPU, which is one of the simplest things to do when it comes to the PC hardware?

Not change but install. And the L5410 is a quad core and have the exact same cpu id as c2q q9450 or q9550. And my mom only allow me to install a cpu, ram, and hdd or ssd sata and m2

And i sometimes get a bluescreen which is threas stuck in device driver (what does it mean) and the other one is unreadable because of the flicker. The second one happen if windows actually boots normal without flickering and blinking. You might expecting all of it will be fine but what you get is the flickered and blackened blue screen.

About the complex modding, i bought the modded one from, lets say shopee which is like the indonesian amazon. While my gpu bought in a fancy gaming pc store which the cashier have the full custom water loop with i7 6800k by raijintek and rgb stuff like the keyboard and gears no gpu sadly. Anyways should i change to gt 1030? Or gtx 750 (which both of them had the same performance)

About the defect. The store does a benchmark on anything that can be benchmark before getting the rma i already got one the twice (the second time not exactly ab rma, but the seller is being nice to me) even though the second one not defected.
