Does any cheap micro-usb cable work for the XO controller

Greetings!
I'd like to buy an Xbox One Controller. In my country i can only find a wireless version and it doesn't come with a cable or adapter. So my question is if i buy some cheap usb to micro-usb cable will it still work fine? Will the controller have slower response and more importantly can the cable DAMAGE the controller in any way?

As long as it's a standard micro USB cable you are fine. It can't be one of these cheap "charge only" cables like what they sell at the 99 cent store.
