Hello , i want to watch live tv on the desktop, record a show once in a while to the desktop, transfer it to a flashdrive or harddrive, plug it in my WDTV attached to my TV in another room and enjoy. My first reaction was to buy a DVR or DVD recorder. But i have been reading today that a TV tuner card for the desktop would work just as good, plus much cheaper.
So does ANYONE have experience with them? I don't have a preference between internal or external. Whichever is better. My desktop is a Dell XPS 420. running duo core processor, windows vista home premium 32 bit, 4GB RAM, Video card - ATI Mobility Radeon HD2600XT. If it matters, my desktop is connected via ethernet cable to a wireless router a few feet away.
If you need more info let me know. What would YOU recommend i buy? What are the goods and bads of what you have experienced. Thanks for any help.
