Does Arma 2 & 3 use alot of vram?

I can't decide between the gtx 960 4gb or 2gb. The 2gb version is cheaper though. I really want to play Arma 2 and 3 and I need to know if the 4gb is worth it.

Don't get 4 gb 960, it won't perform any better than 2 gb 960. You would be better served to get a 280x.

yeah don't spend the extra on the 4gb 960.

Buy the R9-380 instead. It has 4 GB VRAM out of the box. If you need more VRAM for games like GTA V, though, then get an R9-390.

Don't know if the developer ever solved the poor optimizations in ARMA III, but ARMA II was pretty much reliant on having a strong CPU to get good performance. If your playing either game and trying to improve performance, you might look at how your CPU is holding up also.

I can't get a 280x the place where I am buying don't sell it. I think they sell the 390 though.

That CPU will handle those games well, but I would opt for a more powerful graphics card than the 960. It really only fits where power consumption or size are an issue, otherwise, outperformed by everything around it.

yea I will probably get a 970 a year later because of budget reasons
