Yo,
I have an ASUS P9X79 motherboard with the Q-Fan feature enabled but the "Standard" mode doesn't ramp up the CPU fan speed high enough to my liking when I put the CPU under heavy load, so I decided to change to profile to "Manual" instead, and set the values myself. The problem now is that even with something trivial, like opening a web browser, the CPU load, even though very short in duration, already makes the fan ramp up for a second or two, so it's basically going back and forth between low and high rpms constantly. Does this hurt the longevity of my fan?
