I have Acer gn246hl and I bought a GIGABYTE RTX 2070 WINDFORCE
And I just realized after I bought it that it doesn't have a Dvi D port in it
The acer monitor has HDMI 1.4a port and the rtx 2070 has HDMI 2.0 port
Am I going to have at least 120hz with a 1.4/2.0 cable ?
If the 1.4a supports 120hz can I use 2.0 cable between the monitor and the GPU and get 120hz ?
and does the card and the monitor has to be the same type of ports "1.4a or 2.0"

Note: the acer gn246hl doesnt have a Display Port

Is it ok to use 2.0 hdmi cable between the monitor and the GPU ?
Am I still going to get 120hz ?
because the monitor and the GPU don't have the same type of ports (Monitor is 1.4a, GPU is 2.0)

Yes, everything is backwards compatible. The GPU just supports a higher HDMI spec. It still supports the lower specs. But in order for you to get 4k at 60hz, you would need a monitor that had HDMI 2.0. Since you dont have a 4k monitor, your fine. This really does not matter as most computer monitors have display port which is the easiest way to go. The HDMI 2.0 support on your GPU is more for 4k TVs as most TVs dont have display port.

It is just a feature on your card that you dont need.
