I'm getting a Razer Viper Ultimate and I was curious if it matters whether I get a soft or hard mat for tracking at max dpi.

Also, I was looking at getting a white X-ray Thor mouse pad with the idea that maybe the white surface is more reflective and it might help the mouse track better. Or does the color of the pad not really matter?

Solution
Color shouldn't matter much.

And material can make a difference. A smooth surface would be good for fast, smooth (obviously) movements while a textured surface can help for more minute movements. Honestly though you would have to play with both and see which you like.

As for running at max DPI, 20K would be harfd. You wouldn't even have to move the mouse much. Hell I run at half my mouse 16K DPI and I barely need to move the mouse.
