Does my hard disk will run in DDR3 motherboard as well?

Hi, It may be pretty stupid question... But.. I have DDR2 motherboard right now and i am planning to buy a hard disk.. but problem is after a few months i might buy new DDR3 motherboard.. So that hard disk can be used on DDR3 motherboard as well? I don't want to buy 2 hard disks, i hope it works on both motherboards?
Also, suggest a cheap hard disk to buy,..

SATA hard drives work on either motherboard.

In situations like this you need to figure out what the interface the drive uses, and if that interface is on both devices

SATA drives are like water, it can be mixed with ANYTHING.

Now if you over-think this and end up with a "killer deal" IDE, or SCSI, or SAS... you are on your own.
