Does my motherboard support PCI Express 2.0?

I am planning to upgrade my rig with a second hand GTX 260.
The thing is, the GTX 260 is PCI Express 2.0, and my mobo has a PCI Express 1.0 slot. Will it work?

Yes the 260 will run on the slot , just with some loss of performance , nothing to worry about.

Hold on a second. The specs say that the PCI x16 slot is "PCI Express Bus SPEC V1.1 Compliant" What does this mean?
