Question Does port forwarding a game decrease ping?

Not really but it depends how you look at it. If you do not set the port forwarding rules the ping will be timeout.
The port forwarding is simply a port translation. The router in effect edits that packet but it is so fast you can not measure it. Ping times in a proper functioning network is pretty much a measure of distance based on the speed of light. Of course the fiber does not go directly and there is overhead as it passes through routers but primarily it is a distance thing.

So if i fully understand you... the longer the distance the better results from port forwarding will be(even though they are hardly measurable)?
