Does Sony cameras have the watercolor disturbances in images?

Hi friends,
I am planning to buy a new P&S..
If I buy Sony DSC HX20v model,will it be a good recommendation?
Also I read reviews that Sony cameras have a weird watercolor effect or disturbances in their images?.......Is it true?......This issue is driving me mad.
Will you guys recommend me a Sony if my budget is around 370$?
Will Sony be a good alternative than the Canon or Panasonic or Nikon cameras?

Sony cameras, especially in that price range have a nice lens, but the image sensor and processor may not be as good. Canon and Nikon should be your first pick.
