Question Does the Acer TC-885 desktop PC use a proprietary PSU?

Hi all,

A friend had a storm go through his area which has left his PC unable to switch on. When I opened it, I noticed that the slim DVD is using a proprietary power cable, so I'm hesitant to test one of my standard ATX PSU's with it (likewise don't want to tell him to order anything w/o knowing).

Hoping someone here might know.

Yeah, I saw that. But the person never reported back that it actually worked, and the answer(er) didn't actually state having a TC-885, only that they "have a 400W model with one of my PCs." In the meantime, I got a reply from Acer about the DVD connector (I'd asked if they could supply that w/schematic on fitting it to a generic PSU), and they've quoted me for an entire replacement PSU. I'm waiting to hear back from them on the proprietary bit now. The service center is closed until tomorrow. I'll have to ring then.
