Does the Prime B550M-K support RGB/ARGB?

I own a pre-built PC that has an ASUS Prime B550M-K motherboard.

The motherboard manual is here:
https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/SocketAM4/PRIME_B550M-K/E16604_PRIME_B550M-K_UM_WEB.pdf?model=PRIME B550M-K

It's a very similar PC to this one:

The case fans have RGB lights, but they're controlled by an external hand-held remote control unit, which seems to use IR to speak to a small plastic receiver mounted inside the case, into which the case fan lights are plugged.

The CPU fan also has RGB, but they aren't connected to that same unit as the base fans - or to anything at all, from what I can tell - and can't be controlled at all. If the PC is on, the cpu fan lights are on. They're fixed in default pattern of rainbow cycling too. The cpu itself is Ryzen 5 5600X and the fan looks like an SE-224 variant - looking through the ID Cooling website, this is the most similar I can see: https://www.idcooling.com/Product/detail/id/320/name/SE-224-XTS ARGB (that name suggests the fan SHOULD be addressable, if the mobo has a header, right?)

If you check some of the photos on the Alphasync website I linked above, you can see what I mean about the case fan lights and cpu lights being different - even their product imagery shows it:

I'd like to be able to control the case fan lights and the CPU fan lights via software, but none of the usual RGB control software (Signal RGB for eg) detects any RGB hardware, and there's no mention of the mobo having RGB or ARGB headers in the manual that I can see, but I'm a bit of a novice with hardware so its quite possible I missed something.

Anyone know if what I'm trying to do is possible with this mobo? And if not, is there a way I can somehow add argb controllers and reroute the case fan and cpu fan lights through it?

It's a great PC apart from that minor annoyance, and it feels like something that should be easy to fix!

Further to this, I'm wondering if a Razer Chroma is a good option?

My mobo has spare usb headers, but looking at my power supply I don't think it has a molex socket :(

Power supply is a Corsair CV650

Would a Razer Chroma do what I want? And how could I power it?
MB doesn't have any (A)RGB connections, that's why they included controller for fans.If you want to control lights by software you would need one that has USB connection.
That PSU should have 2 molex connectors on this cable
SATA-PATA-PATA-FDD (PATA)

Good stuff! Thanks for confirming. Think I'll get a Chroma and see if I can get that running.

Hi! Sorry, only just spotted your reply.

I did manage to get it all working. Do you still have issues? (I realise you write that a year ago!!)

Let me know if you still need help and I can talk you through what I did. Was pretty easy actually.

fwiw, the short answer is:

- the mobo does support argb - it has a few 4 pin headers to connect stuff to
- my old case fans were rgb (not argb) but not connected to the mobo - they were connected to some cheap external controller that came with an ir remote and could not be controlled via software
- my old cpu fan was argb and had power from the mobo but had no controller hardware, so could not be configured

so, here's what i did:

- i replaced the 4 rgb case fans with new argb fans (all arctic p12 pwm)
- i bought a razer chroma controller
- i connected the 4 new argb case fans and the existing argb cpu fan to the chroma controller
- i can now use the razer synapse app (or any other argb app - eg openrgb) to configure all the argb lights on all the fans
