So I am planning on getting Spectrum's gigabit speed internet and I am almost certain that they don't have a modem that I can buy available yet so they will probably provide me with one. (I am a "beginner" when it comes to PC's. Sorry if this is a dumb question.)
This is the Modem: Technicolor TC4400 DOCSIS 3.1 Modem
I honestly would like to buy my own but their website doesn't show any other modem that I can buy that's compatible with their service yet.
Now my question is: Will the Netgear (R7000P-100NAS) Nighthawk AC2300 which is suppose to be a gigabit router be compatible with the Spectrum provided Technicolor TC4400 DOCSIS 3.1 Modem? Would any gigabit router work or does it need to be compatible with whatever Spectrum gives me.
edit1: I am really trying to avoid using their routers. I am currently having problems with the router they gave me with port forwarding. It would not let me do my port forwards and I read online that someone who had the same router as I had to call spectrum to open up the ports for him
I hope someone is able to answer! Thank you for reading!
