I am going to be upgrading my computer on Friday and got this all together with the budget i had. my question is will it all run together? newegg says the motherboard is 2000 ready. i am mostly curious about the ram because it says "Intel Z170 Platform / Intel X99 Platform Desktop Memory Model F4-2800C15D-8GVR" and i am pretty nooby with this stuff

Sorry, I was mistaking the 2400G as being equal to the 1600, but it's the same as the 1500X just a little faster. Yes the 1600 would be good even with your next GPU ugprade.

I also did not realize the 8600K was almost $100CAD more than the Ryzen 1600.

I would say the Ryzen 1600 is worth upgrading from the FX-8320E.

sorry i should have also posted that these prices are in CAD so i don't know if that changes anything. but thank you so much. I am upgrading from my fx 8320e 1600mhz ddr3. is it going to be a noticeable difference in performance for gaming?

The price looks alright, I think 16 gb kit is about 220 cad so, 120 seams reasonable. Memory should work, make sure you upgrade to the latest bios version on the board. I think you can also play around the ram settings to get to 3000 without much issues.

right now i am using a GTX 970 and i have a 650w power supply

I would save for a better CPU than a Ryzen 3 especially since you already have an FX-8320E.

so going from my 8320e and ddr3 1600 mhz ram to the 2200g with 2800 ddr4 wont be much of an upgrade?

what would you recommend i get? and could i keep the motherboard and ram in the picture or do i need different stuff

The way I see it is you already have a decent CPU, it's holding you back sure; but it still allows you to play any game you want. So, if I were in your shoes I would save up for a really nice upgrade like an i5-8600K to maximize your performance gains.

Or if you just prefer AMD then go with the Ryzen 5 2400G instead. But the Intel will be faster for gaming.
