Does XP Home support 2 cores

So would it be worth just to get the XP Pro
I will just be gaming and doing some schoolwork. I wont be doing any really professional work or anything

Pro Edition when it came out, was an OS aimed at the business world, while Home Edition was aimed at reg home users.

I can't remember exactly what the difference is, it was mainly security. Only thing I really do recall, is the adminstrator account. On Home Edition, you have to reboot in safemode. Pro, you don't. Plus theres an Account manager in the 'MMC' (Microsoft Management Console) for the Pro Edition.

So, for you Home Edition should work just fine. It even has its own firewall. Just can't remember exactly what differs from the 2. And I feel too lazy to look it up..

You're right, a big addition is just security. A few more features on that end, easier networking, remote desktop, Dynamic disk support, automated system recovery, encyrpting file system, built-in fax support, and some more.

I'd go with Pro over Home anyday, especially if you are using a DC. I know that there are those fixes, etc. but I would just have the simplicity that is Pro. (That is an oxymoron in any another context)
