Buildt my first pc using the asus prime x470-pro and the ryzen 5 3600. Updated the motherboard to version 5220. At first I could only get it to post with one stick of g-skill 3200 speed ram (posted and recognized both sticks when updating using an older am4 cpu). In an effort to troubleshoot and get it to post with both sticks I tried re-seating the cpu. After this I cannot get it to post at all with the r5 3600. Went back to the older cpu and got it to post just fine. What should I do here? I know I'll probably have to return something, seems like the cpu to me, but is it for sure the cpu?

not sure if you updated the chipset driver: ASUS strongly recommends that you update AMD chipset driver 18.50.16 or later before updating BIOS. May want to revert to the older AM4 - update and try the boot with the new CPU

I had it running fine for a solid day and was able to get into the OS and everything just with the ram problem. But it's something to try
