I have just purchased an iPhone 6 plus on eBay and have restored it however it says that I need to enter an apple ID and password, and of course I don't know that. I cant contact the buyer about it as they say that they found it and couldn't contact the original owner (I'm thinking it could be stolen) Anything I can do to unlock it? Thanks.

Solution

Take it to an apple store.
They can either fix it, or tell you it was a stolen device.
Or return and get your money back from the ebay guy.
Even Apple won't help with a stolen phone, regardless of how you purchased it. Return to and get a refund.

For ShadyHamster, no, you can't do that without the original credentials from the previous owner. It is a theft deterrent measure to prevent the sale of stolen devices.

i didn't say it was definetley stolen i just said it could be, are you sure it cant be erased? even if i took it to a shop or something?

No reputable service will unlock the phone (even if it would work). No, it is not possible without the credentials of the previous owner (I know this from personal experience with an iPad that my father-in-law and nephew dorked up the credentials on).

Also, beware of the plethora of tools that "claim" to fix this problem. They don't work. Save your money.

Ah fair enough, never used an Apple product before so wasn't sure.
