Don't know my motherboard maker and need to hook up the front panel pins.

I've tried every pin spot and I just can't seem to get it to power on. I can't find out the maker until I can get it powered on. Which I can't do because it doesn't have the pin spots labeld. Any advice?

From your photos, it looks like your motherboard is the MB.GAH09.001 Motherboard (for the Acer Gateway FX6831 Desktop PC)

If so, this might be the front panel pinout (not official) based on other 14-pin headers on Acer motherboards:

The PWR SW pins may be Pin #6 and Pin #8 (or the red colored pins in the first photo).

In your case, these are the 2 pins at the center, beside the missing Pin #10.
I just tried and none of the pins started up the PC. I used a paper clip to on the green and black wires to my motherboard power hookup and it starts that way, but not with any of the pins. Is something shorted out?

Can you get an image of it. Sometimes they have markings near the pins.

They also have a few standard front port connectors so you may be able to ID it that way.

Take care shorting pins. you CAN damage the board(best case you just damage something like the speaker connector or power led connect).
