Hello,

I have a media server running windows 8.1, I sometimes use it to extract files from RAR archives and as it isn't very quick so can sometimes take a while, Is there a way i can add WinRAR as an exception so if windows sees that it is open it won't goto sleep ?

Or can i some how not make it sleep when hard drive activity is above 50% ?

Thanks

I have been looking for the same thing for my media server as well. Right now the best thing that I have come up with is a free utility that prevents the PC from Sleeping for a given amount of time. http://download.cnet.com/No-Sleep/3000-2094_4-75220774.html or this one http://download.cnet.com/Don-t-Sleep/3000-2094_4-75179809.html (this is the one I use because it offers a lot more customization)

I would much rather have it directly linked with my media server app because it is really not that much different from just using your own power settings, maybe someone knows of a better solution
