okay . There was a bug that made upgrading stops at 99% for days , and there is a fix for that ... Thanks.

that was my thought. anyone who is into gaming would not signup and install windows insider builds because they know how buggy they can be

.....no.It might freeze YOUR PC,mines sailing along smoothly as always since I bought the retail version in September.Wow...almost a year now,and I haven't looked back.

Not me. I have a home made desktop with Intel stuff and 2 Dell notebooks brand new (2 months old), both Intel/nVidia...

It's working just fine on the 28 desktops and 2 laptops I've installed it on in the last week. You can defer updates if you're on the Pro version but not on the Home version.
However I NEVER do a major system update without first making a full system backup before starting. If some don't do that and have problems, they have nobody to blame but themselves.

You shouldn't make blanket statements like that! you may have experienced a problem and you say others have too. But you don't know anything about those others. They may have been user errors or incompetence. Who knows. It is odd that 99% of upgrades are fine. So why are YOU in the one percent? I've been an Insider for 18 months and never ever had any sort of issue. I had Win10 upgrade (not just update) almost daily in the run up to the A|nniversay Edition going public. not a glitch. so why are you the odd one out. What is it about your rig that causes issues? Have you investigated?

Works ok here but I did a clean install of the ISO, I downloaded with the mediacreation tool

It also fixed the wireless drivers for the WDN3200 here. With 1151, the Win10 install didnt support dual band (the 5 GHZ connection. the AU update supports both)

But it broke Samsung Magician 4.97. It said AHCI wasnt activated. So, I uninstalled it.I'll wait for Samsung to update it

Same here. My system automatically installed the Windows 10 'Anniversary Update' and no problems developed. This update eliminated a couple of 'bugs' and even seems to have enhanced some of the OS features.

looks like people that have real identifiable problems have a power management issue.
most likely a BIOS and SATA driver update (or firmware update of a SSD) might fix, otherwise
you would enable a registry key:
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/177819-ahci-link-power-management-enable-hipm-dipm.html

microsoft windows would not update your bios or your 3rd party SATA drivers (from your motherboard vendor) or your SSD firmware for you. (except for a surface machine).

As for other errors and fixes reported on the original rededit link it was like watching a sit com. it was like your car ran out of gas and people said me too, the fix was to change my wiper blades. Then another fix was to change the left front tire. or turn off the radio. It was pretty funny. Not real attempt to debug and isolate the problem to the actual cause, just a demand that microsoft fix it.
a guy on forbes even wrote a article based on the link he must of not had anything better to do.

When you are nice to your system and keep it clean it will always work and upgrade properly.
My system:
W7 to W8 to 8.1 to W10 ever since first TP version and every insider version since including last 14901 with HW changes at least 3 times in between and still humming along without nary a problem.

I updated to 4.97 after the update to the Anniversary Edition and it worked fine.

After The great so-called update:
I have no answers anymore Microsoft is warring out and its dreaded to use any longer.
Had 2 system freezes and Sticky Notes is HUGE and unusable
I will call mu paid support so they can stumble on their shoe laces and only offer the usual "make a new profile" or the fix all bull, "lets refresh you Windows" now you know why I soooo tired of the crap.

If you upgraded it will work, if you did a clean install (like I did), it wont

No defer option UNLESS you own Win10 Pro, check your download options in HE, there are none. Like some others have stated, rollback is the only option... However, "IT" (Win10 AE) will come back. Sounds like an IT version of a Stephen King novel, LOL.

My issues (luckily) were isolated to component-driver/.dll issues and were easy fixes; i.e. NV (with new OS listing/driver) and soundcard driver reload.

LOOKS LIKE YOU ARE NEW TO THE INTERNET OR THIS IS THE FIRST TIME YOU ARE USING A PC HAHAHAHA .

I do understand that you really don't have any idea of what your problem was or how it was fixed.
You claim that Microsoft fixed the problem in the Aug 31 patch but can not match the patch fixes to your actual problem.
So you just offer a child like insult as a response.
