I had my computer for almost 2 yrs now and so far it was working flawlessly until december. The display isnt showing on first startup. I need to pres the power up switch , wait a bit during boot (5-7seconds) then press again to shut it down. And power it up a second time wich usually work and can now see some display on my monitor. I can't figure why I need to ''double-boot'' running win7 installed on an intel SSD, Asrock mb z77 extreme4, intel i5 3570k still stock. msi Geforce 660ti,

I've updated my mb bios, reinstalled latest graphic driver etc

after re-reading , yah its a bit ocnfusing. Its the computer that isnt displaying on my monitor. Windows boot to desktop I am sure as i can heae the litle sound and what not. And I can manage to shut down by using the windows key then rigth arrow and enter. (so basically manually shutting down windows form the star menu)

ok sorry for the late respond. So so far im on my 2nd day of using the onboard video card and it boot up fine every time.

So maybe its my video card or my MB. I have a old video card layign somewhere that I'll try and use to see if I experience the same thing. If not I guess I can say my MB is the problem.

Do you think its something that can be fixed ??

Also what I find weird is if I get the computer running and never shut it down, I have absolutely no problem with my video card. (the geforce 660Ti)

as it boots fine using onboard video then points to your videocard. try that old card to see if still boots fine. I think you have a cold solder joint or maybe a bad capacitor on that geforce 660Ti. are all the can shaped capacitors flat topped or is 1 domed like a frozen pop can?

after a week of runing on my old GTS 450, I had absolutely no video problem. So it point to the card. I writed to MSI describing my problem ( a good 30 lines of explanation of what I've tried etc etc) and got a small reply that read '' i can't explain why sometime it work and sometime it don't but your card is proabably faulty.''

And all capacitor look brand new. All flat top. Can't find a a trace of something that could have went wrong on the card. Its buggin me tho, that once I manage to boot up, the card work fine until I shut down the computer. Leaving computer run all day isnt an option for now.

maybe.. .I have a Corsair AX750, its somehoe 'modular'' so I moved my 2 power cable (2x 6pin I believe) to another port on the PSU and still got that same problem. I don't have a simmilar powerfull psu to try and switch, but it might be something easily done after all thank for the tip.
