Right, first off, don't suggest Ryzen cos I don't have and won't have the money for 3-4 years at least, I jist want something a little more capable.

Second, I already have everything but the CPU, motherboard, and RAM, I would just like to be double sure it's all compatible so I put them in there to check.

Thirdly, I can't list my case because i got in a prebuilt computer, and I can't find it anywhere so... If you can think of a good but cheap one, add it to the list please

This is a list I made to upgrade my AM2/2+ Mobo and X4 860K CPU to an FX-Series CPU and AM3 Mobo for slightly better peformamce in my currently owned games and future ones. As I said don't suggest Ryzen because I don't have the money for it and won't and I already have a completely seperate build for that.

This is just an upgrade from AM2 to AM3. I would like to play Division, PUBG, Watch Dogs 2, and maybe AC Origins (even if I just meet the minimum).

Side note: I already have 8GB of RAM (DDR3), I know its generally enough but I want a little more for that extra (even if slight) performance boost. Any questions feel free to ask.

Thanks in advance for all your help

Solution
I won't know till I get the money (at Christmas). I would love a Ryzen upgrade but I don't have any income just Christmas money so. It'll probably be £200, maybe a little more. And I'm an AMD man, so I'm not really looking to go to Intel (just in case)

Get this and you will never regret :) That FX is waste of your hard-earned money:

Also this setup gives you OC ability, can boost up another 10-20% FPS

If really aiming for cheapest:

But harder to expand. I recommend the first setup.

Thanks for your help. Like I said I already have 8GB of RAM (I don't know what kind they are though as they came with PC prebuilt. They work good enough but do you have a good 4GB stick in case I want a little upgrade?

I'm not going to suggest Ryzen, but if you are even thinking of purchasing an FX-8350 in this day and age, you are throwing money away. Even an R3-1200 is only £105 - only £10 more than the FX-8350. That is a terrible CPU to buy in 2017 when it's already 5+ years old and won't keep up with new games if that's what you are going for. Better to save your money and get something better than to upgrade just because. Better would be to get a low end Pentium on a current socket that gives you more of a path to upgrade in the future to an i5 or i7. But AM3 is an absolute waste of money.

Save your money then. Do not invest in AM3. It is a dead platform with no upgrade path. If you have to have a PC now go with a low end Pentium and then upgrade to an i5 / i7. If you can save money then Ryzen or a locked Intel will be a better buy. For 600 quid you can get this:

AM3 is a dead platform - it is not a viable option. I cannot emphasize this enough - you are throwing money away buying an FX-8350 in 2017. There is no other way to say it. The FX-8XXX CPUs weren't good when they were new, and they're certainly not good now that there's much better options available around the same price range. Save your money and get the R3 when you can. It will be a much better option. Do not buy AM3.

But the reason I recommended the Intel platform is because of the upgrade options. You can get a Pentium G 4400 now because it's super cheap but you can upgrade all the way to an i7-7700 with that motherboard. And Intel is more ideal for gaming anyways than Ryzen or AM3 are.
