hello guys.
so a friend of mine wanted to build a new pc and asked me for advice. im no expert although i did all my builds up until today. his setup is roughly like this:

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600x
GPU: GTX 1660ti
RAM: 16GB (2x8) G.skill Aegis 3000Mhz
STORAGE: 500gb M.2 SSD Western digital blue
MOBO: MSI B450 tomahawk
PSU: Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 550W full modular
EXTRAS: G.skill mechanical keyboard, generical gaming mouse

No OC in anything, he doesnt do that but he wanted the fastest stock one so the X it is. he is one of those that will buy a new version instead of OC'ing for some extra longevity

Thing is the store guys want to sell him either a 650W or 750W PSU for the sole reason that they say that the 550W is not nearly enough for this setup. i think it should be enough, if my math is correct, it should even have some spare right?

Thanks in advance guys

Solution
PSU: Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 550W full modular
This unit is a high-end name brand unit with a 10-year warranty.
It is from SeaSonic, one of the best in the business.

It is of high quality and 80+ gold efficiency. More than adequate for his setup.

'Gaming Power Supply Coolbox 650w 80+'
This is a low-end no-name unit with questionable quality.
I wouldn't ever pick a no-name unit over any SeaSonic FOCUS Gold.
Certainly, it will be less reliable and leave less room for upgrades. Its less efficient as well.
Just buy the 550w Seasonic.
What PSU did they say the model? Also, the only reason I can see getting a bigger PSU is to future proof the system so they won't have to worry about upgrading it later unless it dies of course.

I cant even find a proper page to it.
8436556145339 <- this is the reference number for one of them

yes, the only reason i see is future proofing, but even so, things are getting more power efficient with each new generation
